West Dallas Neighborhood circle

When neighbors come together to advocate for native habitat, the result is a mutually beneficial space for people and pollinators to thrive alongside one another.

A neighborhood circle might not seem like much when it comes to conservation work, but a year-long biodiversity study proved that these modest spaces can serve as an abundant urban oasis for wildlife. Three years after installing hundreds of native plants and annual seeding, hundreds of species now call this neighborhood circle home. From bluebonnets and primrose in the Spring, salvia and coneflower in the Summer, and aster and sunflowers in the Fall, this garden is painted with new colors each season. Neighbors regularly stop to observe the plethora of bees and butterflies happily buzzing and fluttering through the abundance of wildflowers.
